Top Rank Promotion was officially announced the pay-per-view event Pacquiao Vs Marquez III on November 12, 2011. This was finalized after the news that Marquez was finally signed the contract that offered by the Top Rank Promotion to fight the 8 division world champion Manny Pacman Pacquiao.
The contract stated that the Pacquiao Vs Marquez III will occur in MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on November 12, 2011 at the catch-weight of 144pounds. In this fight Marquez was guaranteed to have a $5 million.
This was the 3rd time that Pacquiao and Marquez will face off in the ring. Year 2004 was their 1st fight and it end in a draw, Then in the year 2008 they fought again for a rematch and Pacquiao won the fight by a split decision.
Marquez admit that Pacquiao was changed a lot since their last fight but he is also determined to fight the future hall of famer. According to him, that in this fight he will do his best strategy on how to beat Manny Pacquiao.
