It's official. Filipino boxing hero Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao will face Mexican rival Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez for the third time on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This match is expected to be the most exciting fight of the year, since the two boxing icons have already faced each other in two previous tight battles. The first bout was in 2004 which ended in a controversial draw. They fought again four years later, when the Filipino boxer won in a split decision and took away Marquez’s WBC super featherweight title.
Marquez, the reigning WBO and World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight champion, is believed by many fight experts to be the next best opponent for Pacquiao in the absence of one of pound-for-pound greatest fighters Floyd Mayweather Jr.
However, Marquez admitted that age is going to be the greatest factor of this match. Boxing analysts believe that Pacquaio will overcome Marquez in this fight. Marquez obviously shows signs of athletic aging and facing the younger and larger Manny Pacquiao would be a tough feat for him. But still Marquez is more than determined to defeat Pacquaio and finally give closure to the debate on who really is the greater fighter.

As expected, most are in favor of the Filipino champ. Pacquiao has been known to fight opponents with size advantage and are very aggressive and powerful like Oscar dela Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley, and still defeat them in the end. The difference now is that Marquez doesn't have the size and power of those Pacquaio previously fought. However, it is seen in most of Marquez's fights that he has an impressive boxing intellect and a real heart of a warrior. And so, many believe that this is enough to make him win the fight.
So there. Everyone has given opinions; negotiations have been dealt with; and both fighters have expressed their will to prove themselves. The only question left now is: Who will conquer the ring?
